OTUMFUO-AGROECOM MOBILE LEARNING PROJECT (OAMLP)
The Otumfuo AGROECOM Mobile Learning Project (OAMLP) initiative began in 2014 as Otumfuo Mobile Learning to provide free education to Ghanaians in deprived areas. In 2017 AGROECOM, a cocoa buying company partnered with the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation as the headline sponsor of this project. Since 2014, over 105,000 pupils and farmers in 153 communities in 9 regions across Ghana have been impacted with OAMLP. The OAMLP offers practical ICT lessons, Reading lessons, Farmers Engagement and Community Cinema sessions.
The OAMLP, for the past years, has contributed to bridging the gap between rural and urban education with its aim of promoting inclusive and equitable quality education in Ghana as stated in Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4). The Foundation in pursuing its core mandate has contributed significantly to the educational development of hard-to-reach communities in Ghana by providing free education to indigenes of rural communities through OAMLP.
