Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation supports Prempeh College Robotics team to USA competition

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation has presented a cheque of Seventeen Thousand, Five Hundred Ghana cedis (GHC 17,500.00) to Prempeh College for their Robotics Club. The donation is to cater for the feeding cost of the teams comprising two teachers and seven students who are scheduled to travel to Lawrence Technology University, Michigan, USA.

The team is to represent the club in this year’s Robotic Competition at the international level against other schools around the world that will be held from 11th to 13th of May, 2023.

The Foundation responded the clubs request from the backdrop that education is a core thematic area of the King’s social initiative aimed at empowering the people. It is also to demonstrate His Royal Majesty’s continued commitment to ensuring that students in Asanteman and Ghana as a whole are holistically educated to be competitive among students from any part of the world.

In making the presentation, the Board Chair of the Foundation and Otumfuo’s Hiahene, Prof Nana Oheneba Boachie-Adjei Woahene Il, advised the students to go and exhibit the best of what they have learnt in order to excel. “As you go out there to compete, have it at the back of your minds that you represent Asanteman and Ghana in general. You have the support of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, and the entire Ghanaian people to raise the flag of Ghana high”.

The Robotics Club of the College was formed to teach students about Robotics and its use to enhance the thinking and problem solving abilities of the students to position them positively to impact on Ghanaian society in not a distance future.
